Sources and Differences in Wording

Ustadh Salman Younas at SeekersGuidance discusses this Hanafi wording and a longer variation. He explains that differences in wording are found in Hanafi works. This page follows the familiar shorter version rather than mixing different versions together.

HadithAnswers’ reference explanation cites a report of Abdullah ibn Masud teaching Qunut in Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 6965 and notes other variations. That report should not be described as a verbatim statement of the Prophet ﷺ. The linked answer lets you check its attribution and the wording it records.

How to Learn Dua e Qunoot

  1. Start with the first short phrase and read its meaning before moving on.
  2. Compare the Arabic, Urdu and English lines to understand the request rather than memorising sounds alone.
  3. Read back what you have learned to a teacher who can correct pronunciation.
  4. Save the poster as a reading reminder. Keep the full Arabic visible when sharing it.

This is a practical study routine, not a required number of repetitions. Take your time with unfamiliar words and return to the same version when practising.
