Worked example
2.54 centimetres equals 1 inch; 1 kilogram equals approximately 2.2046 pounds; 0 degrees Celsius equals 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperature uses an offset as well as a scale factor.

Why the unit label is essential
The number 100 has no useful measurement meaning until a unit is attached. A 100 millimetre label is one tenth the length of a 100 centimetre label. When working on a print brief, record both the value and the unit so that the designer and printer read the same dimensions. Convert each side separately for rectangular artwork.
Length and weight conversions
Length options include millimetres, centimetres, metres, kilometres, inches, feet, yards and miles. Weight options include grams, kilograms, pounds and ounces. Nonnegative values are accepted for these physical quantities. The calculator keeps the calculation precision and rounds only the displayed result; it does not round to a ruler mark or manufacturing allowance.
Temperature needs a different formula
Celsius to Fahrenheit is C × 9/5 + 32. Fahrenheit to Celsius reverses the offset before applying the scale factor. Kelvin equals Celsius plus 273.15. A change of 10 degrees and an actual temperature of 10 degrees are different questions: this tool converts actual temperatures. Values below absolute zero are rejected.
Use the unit converter on mobile or desktop

Keep a copy of any important input in your own document before resetting or leaving the page. Reset restores the starting controls and clears the displayed output; it does not create an undo history. The tool does not retain previous results, compare them with a database or submit them to another application for you.
After copying, check the result in the destination where you intend to use it. Preserve meaningful units, labels and exact characters. A browser calculation or conversion can be correct while a separate form, document or production process expects a different input format. Can I convert feet and inches together?
Enter decimal feet or total inches, then select that unit. For 5 feet 6 inches, use 5.5 feet or 66 inches.
Does it convert area or volume?
No. This version converts length, weight and temperature.
Are negative temperatures accepted?
Yes for Celsius and Fahrenheit, provided they are not below absolute zero.
