timestamp converter: Convert a Unix timestamp in seconds or milliseconds into UTC, Pakistan time and the browser’s local time. You can also convert an explicitly labelled UTC date into Unix seconds and milliseconds. Choosing the correct input unit prevents the common seconds-versus-milliseconds error.

How to use the timestamp converter
- Choose Unix to date or UTC date to Unix.
- For a Unix value, choose seconds or milliseconds explicitly.
- For a date, enter a real UTC time ending in Z.
- Convert and copy the result together with its time-zone label.
Worked example
Unix timestamp 0 seconds corresponds to 1970-01-01T00:00:00.000Z. The same instant is 5:00 AM in Asia/Karachi. A timestamp measured in milliseconds uses a value one thousand times larger than seconds.
Timestamp Converter: understand the result
One instant can have several clock labels
UTC and Pakistan time can display different hours while referring to the same instant. The local-time line follows the time zone configured in your browser or computer. Keep a time-zone label when sharing a result so that another person does not interpret the clock time in their own zone. A Unix timestamp itself is an elapsed count, not a local appointment label.
Select seconds or milliseconds
Many systems store seconds, while JavaScript Date uses milliseconds. A recent seconds timestamp often has ten digits and milliseconds often thirteen, but the tool does not rely on that guess. Choose the unit provided by the source system. Negative timestamps represent dates before the Unix epoch and are accepted within the browser’s supported date range.
Enter UTC dates deliberately
Use a date such as 2026-10-07T06:00:00Z. The final Z explicitly means UTC. Do not paste a Pakistan clock time into that field and label it UTC; subtract the appropriate time-zone offset first or use another time-zone-aware calendar. This version accepts whole timestamps and explicit UTC dates rather than ambiguous locale-formatted date strings.
Use the timestamp converter on mobile or desktop
The timestamp converter controls adapt to the available screen width. On a phone, fields stack vertically; on a wider screen they stay grouped together. Choose the mode first, read the input labels, and then generate the result. The Copy result button copies the output if your browser allows clipboard access. If permission is unavailable, the output is selected so that you can copy it manually.
Keep a copy of any important input in your own document before resetting or leaving the page. Reset restores the starting controls and clears the displayed output; it does not create an undo history. The tool does not retain previous results, compare them with a database or submit them to another application for you.
After copying, check the result in the destination where you intend to use it. Preserve meaningful units, labels and exact characters. A browser calculation or conversion can be correct while a separate form, document or production process expects a different input format. Use the example above to understand the operation before relying on your own result.
Timestamp Converter: frequently asked questions
Does local time always mean Pakistan?
No. Pakistan time is shown separately; local time follows your browser settings.
Are milliseconds detected automatically?
No. Select the unit explicitly.
Can I enter a date without a time zone?
No. The reverse converter requires an explicit UTC Z date to avoid ambiguity.
