How to find a hadith reference
- Select the collection printed beside your quotation.
- Enter its Sunnah.com reference number, including a suffix such as 55a when shown.
- Press Find hadith reference and open the source.
- Check the narrator, full text, translation, reference and any displayed grade before sharing.
Why collection and numbering matter
A number alone is not a complete hadith reference. Bukhari and Muslim use different collections, and older volume/book references do not always match today’s continuous numbers. This finder uses Sunnah.com’s reference URL format. An arbitrary number may open a missing page; the finder cannot verify its existence without requesting source data.
Urdu and English translations
The on-site reader contains 2,220 HadeethEnc reports with Arabic text and both Urdu and English translations. Its IDs are source-library identifiers, not book Hadith numbers. For references outside this selection, the collection lookup opens Sunnah.com, where language availability varies. This tool does not supply an automatic translation or replace a scholar’s explanation.
Frequently asked questions
Does this tool authenticate a quotation?
No. The reader reproduces the source text and grades for its selected library. The separate collection lookup prepares a reference link; it does not confirm arbitrary numbers or authenticate quotations. Read the source’s grading and consult reliable scholarship for interpretation.
What if my reference opens no page?
Check the collection, number and letter suffix. If your book uses a different numbering system, use Sunnah.com’s search to locate the wording.
Does it use an API?
No live text API is used. Two official source files are downloaded from Khiyalee only when you load the reader. Search and reading then run in your browser. The source website opens when you choose a source or explanation button.
